Old Bolivian saddle bags from Charzani
These double saddle bags are handwoven on an Andean loom. They are made in pairs and joined by handwoven straps as shown. The local name is alforjas. This pair is from the Charzani region, and is complete with straps. The first two photos show both sides of the bags. Each bag measures approximately 10.5 x 15 inches, and the connecting straps are about and inch wide and 23 inches long. I believe they were made before 1960, so they are at least 45 years old.
Condition is Very Good, some wear and slight soil / stains from use. There are also a couple small repairs. Overall quite nice and very hard to find as a complete pair.
